In short
The app runs entirely on your phone. No sign-up, no account, and nothing from it reaches us. We don’t collect data through the app and we don’t share any with anyone.
Steps and sleep
If you allow it, the app reads two things from your phone’s health app — Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android: your step count and how long you slept. Access is read-only. The app never writes to your health record and never touches anything else in it.
Your steps and sleep are used only for what you see in the app:
- they are shown on the home screen and in Activity;
- they set your daily step goal;
- they go into your morning and evening reminders — the reminder text is put together on the phone itself;
- in Your own patterns they are compared with your other days, and with your cycle dates if you have logged them.
On Android the app also reads your steps and sleep in the background, but only before the reminders, so that the numbers in them are right. On iPhone, the system decides when this happens.
What you enter
The doses you log, your reminder times and — if you choose — your cycle dates. Cycle dates don’t go through the health app.
Your answers to the questions. You enter them and they stay on the phone — they never reach us. “Reset the app” deletes them along with everything else.
Where the data stays
Everything you enter, and everything the app reads, is written to this phone’s storage and stays there. We have no copy and no access to it. We don’t sell it, don’t use it for advertising and don’t give it to anyone.
The two connections out
The first: the app asks the smartycoffee.com website for current prices. The second: on launch it checks Expo’s update service (EAS Update) for a fix to some wording or a small bug that is ready to download. Neither carries anything about you — not who you are, not what’s stored inside, not a number by which your phone could be recognised. The check sends only your platform and which version you are on, so it knows what to send back. Both use a secure connection (HTTPS).
When you decide to order
The app opens the shop in your browser and passes only the pack type, flavour and quantity. Your name, phone and address are entered in the shop and handled under the website’s privacy policy — the app never sees them and never stores them.
How to stop the access
Any time. On iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → SmartyCoffee. On Android: the Health Connect app → App permissions. The Activity screen also has a “Stop reading” button, which ends only our reading and leaves the system permission alone.
How to delete your data
“Reset the app” in Settings deletes everything from the phone. Uninstalling the app does the same. We hold no copy to delete.
Security
The data sits in the app’s own storage on the phone, protected by the phone’s own lock and encryption. Both connections out use HTTPS.
Age
The app is intended for adults.
What this app is not
The numbers shown are a rough guide, nothing more. They are not a medical measurement and not medical advice. Cycle tracking is not a contraceptive method and does not replace a doctor.
Changes
If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
